About this hymn

Being crucified with Christ in Galatians 2 points to the breaking of the old self’s power and a life now lived through the faithfulness and love of God’s Son. Union with Christ does not erase personality, responsibility or genuine human action. Grace enables believers to repent, endure and serve, giving glory to the Lord who dwells within. From justification through sanctification to the hope of seeing the Lord, the whole song rests its confidence on Christ’s accomplished work and continuing support. It suits discipleship and perseverance, and can correct anxiety about earning acceptance through performance.
