Confession and repentance · Confession and returning
Before Peter denied him three times, Jesus had already prayed for his faith and foretold that he would strengthen his brothers after turning back. The rooster’s crow exposed fear and self-reliance, but did not end Peter’s story: the risen Lord later entrusted him again with tending the flock. When using this song for Holy Week reflection, keep confession and forgiveness together, lest shame imprison people in failure. Hebrews also invites the weak to approach the throne of grace boldly, receiving mercy and timely help, so that faithfulness may be restored through grace.
