Confession and repentance · Renewal and sanctification
The song begins with a prayer to come before the Lord and gradually unfolds into the hope of having our hearts changed, our vision renewed and our strength restored in the Lord’s love. Romans 12 connects offering ourselves with the renewal of our minds; 2 Corinthians 3 explains that the Holy Spirit gradually forms those who belong to the Lord into Christ’s likeness. The imagery of flying also recalls Isaiah’s comfort for the weary. Such renewal calls us to keep drawing near to the Lord and to learn afresh through his word how to judge and choose. As we sing, we can honestly entrust our weaknesses and the things we cling to, asking the Lord to guide today’s life with his love so that our dependence on him and our obedience grow together.
Renewed dedication, personal devotions, retreats and prayer in weariness.
