The pilgrim journey · Companionship and guidance
Psalm 23’s shepherd centres this hymn, placing the experience of being sought and brought back within Christ’s loving kindness. The King exercises authority through personal shepherding: he provides, guides and accompanies his people along dark roads. John further reveals the good shepherd laying down his life for sheep, grounding trust in the cross. Entrust present lack and future uncertainty to the Lord, remembering how you have been restored and supported. His presence also invites the church to learn his heart, actively seeking the estranged and accompanying weary members along the shared road towards him.
