Redeeming grace · The incarnation
Beginning with the Christmas announcement, this hymn brings the shepherds listening and the wise men following the star to worship into one picture of the Saviour’s birth. Repeated joyful singing confesses this infant’s kingship and invites everyone to respond with love and reverence. Leaders can read Luke and Matthew separately, helping the congregation recognise the content of each account: the hymn joins them into praise, while Bible reading preserves the events’ sequence and details. Some heard good news at their everyday work; others came seeking from far away, and both were finally called through Christ to worship. We too can come before the Lord with our different experiences and prepare welcome and companionship for those still seeking.
