About this hymn

This song celebrates believers being bound to one another by Christ’s love, acknowledging in their shared singing that they belong to one body. Ephesians 4 grounds this unity in one Lord, one faith and one Father, and teaches us to maintain it with humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians connects love with a shared life of forgiveness and peace. As we sing, we can give thanks for fellow believers we have only recently met and bring relationships that remain strained before the Lord. The Lord’s love gives us a foundation for accepting one another and moves us towards honest communication, repairing harm and bearing one another’s burdens. In this way, unity gradually becomes visible in our relationships and bears witness to the world so that people may know Jesus.

When to use this hymn
