Looking back on the Lord’s care through passing years, the work connects each season’s grace with support amid weakness. After repeated prayer in Second Corinthians 12, Paul receives the promise of the Lord’s power displayed in weakness, enabling sufficient grace to accompany difficulty still unresolved. Isaiah’s comfort through water and fire likewise assures us that the Lord walks with us along hard roads. Thank him for past keeping while honestly entrusting present limits. As the church accompanies older, ill or exhausted members, it witnesses this continuing loving kindness together, finding hope to go forward within limits.
