Confession and repentance · Confession and returning
The community seeking the heavenly Father together also acknowledges its need to turn from evil. Intercession for land and nation therefore passes first through repentance, asking the Lord for love and vision that accord with his heart. Chronicles’ promise to heal the land has Israel’s covenant as its background. Today’s church can learn humble examination from it and pray for everyone and rulers according to New Testament teaching. Longing for revival deepens concern for neighbours and leads towards honesty, justice and mercy. Pray concretely for local needs, the church’s failings and gospel proclamation, asking the Lord to guide our subsequent action.
United prayer, communal confession, intercession for cities and nations, and prayerful watch for the gospel.
