The glory of God · Holiness and majesty
God’s revealing of his presence gives us grounds for reverence. In Exodus, Moses hears the Lord’s call before the burning bush; Isaiah sees the holy Lord and bows in acknowledgement of his uncleanness. Following these worship pictures, the song invites the congregation humbly before God. Ephesians explains the church in Christ as the Spirit’s dwelling, teaching us to treasure the grace of gathering. Read Scripture, leave room for examination and then sing together. Reverence for the Lord also guides a community to treat one another seriously, protect the weak and address wrongdoing honestly, bringing the holiness honoured in worship into daily relationships.
