The glory of God · Faithfulness and covenant keeping
Sunlight hidden by clouds gives children and adults an accessible image: present feelings change, yet God’s faithfulness remains trustworthy. Lamentations 3 remembers the Lord’s mercy amid profound suffering, giving this song’s comfort a firm background. A person can be sad while learning to look upwards; faith has room for tears and asking for help. During pastoral visits, listen to the person’s experience before gently sharing the hope that the Lord has not abandoned them. The bright melody also suits parents and children singing together, gradually teaching children that they can pray amid difficulty and seek help from trusted people.
Sunday school, parent-and-child worship, visiting the sick and comfort during low points.
