The pilgrim journey · Prayer and drawing near
Built around Jesus’ taught prayer, this work leads the congregation from honouring the heavenly Father into daily needs, forgiveness and reliance amid temptation. The prayer’s “we” reminds us that personal needs connect with the community, including responsibility to forgive one another. Its final section adds longing to draw near and behold his beauty, naturally extending petition into worship. Sing familiar words slowly, letting every petition meet real life. Remember those lacking food when praying for bread, examine relationships when asking forgiveness, and ask the Lord’s protection for choices requiring steadfastness today.
