Redeeming grace · Freely given grace
With a clear invitation, this song directs human hope towards Jesus, who came into the world to accomplish redemption. John explains that life and light are in him; Acts declares that salvation is in his name; 1 Peter further grounds our living hope in Christ’s resurrection. In evangelism, the work can introduce who Jesus is, why he laid down his life and how people can respond in faith. After coming to faith, real difficulties still need patient attention, but we already have a Saviour we can trust and the eternal hope he has kept for us. When accompanying friends exploring faith, it is helpful to leave time for questions and conversation and to listen carefully to the circumstances they are facing.
