The pilgrim journey · Mission and the gospel
This mission prayer looks towards lonely, wounded people, first asking the Lord to teach us how to give and then responding to his sending. Matthew 9 records Jesus’ compassion for harassed, scattered people and instruction to ask the harvest’s Lord for workers. Receiving his mercy towards people thus begins service. Isaiah also answers after cleansing, recalling dedication’s dependence on grace. Pray for someone needing companionship and turn willingness into visits, listening and gospel sharing, carrying the Lord’s love to neighbours through everyday actions.
