The glory of God · Goodness and provision
This song brings thanksgiving, prayer and joyful acclamation together, inviting the congregation to treasure the blessing of coming before the Lord. Psalm 100 reminds worshippers that God’s goodness and faithfulness deserve thanksgiving; Psalm 84 expresses the psalmist’s deep longing to draw near to the Lord. Hebrews calls praise a sacrifice offered to God through Jesus, grounding our singing in salvation. At a gathering, we can first recall one specific gift of grace from the past week and then sing together. Wholehearted praise also has room for silence and tears: brothers and sisters in difficult circumstances can participate with honest hearts, supported by the community’s thanksgiving as they continue looking to the Lord.
Opening Sunday worship, thanksgiving gatherings and fellowship worship; retain ways to participate both through joyful acclamation and in silence.
