The pilgrim journey · Companionship and guidance
Psalm 121 begins with a traveller looking up and asking a question, directing help’s source towards the Creator of heaven and earth. A simple melody repeatedly remembers this trust, offering a shared prayer for departure, worry or waiting. The psalm then describes his unsleeping care: behind our limited watchfulness stands his continual keeping. Acknowledge need for help, bring plans and fears before him, and humbly accept the support he gives through people. Singing with family or a small group stores the passage in memory, recalling the gracious Lord throughout different journeys.
Prayer for travel and commissioning, family worship, memorising Psalms and looking to God amid difficulty.
