Redeeming grace · Freely given grace
From the heavenly Father’s love and election to Christ laying down his life and forgiving sins, this work grounds freedom in the salvation God took the initiative to accomplish. Ephesians explains that believers receive grace in the beloved Son; Romans 8 declares freedom for those in Christ; 2 Corinthians directs this grace towards a newly created life. Those bound by past guilt can stand again in the acceptance the Lord has already given, learning to repent and repair what is their responsibility. At baptismal testimonies, it is helpful to share how the gospel has changed one real choice in life. The community’s continued companionship helps new believers grow, so that freedom gradually becomes visible in a life of loving the Lord, loving others and doing good.
Baptismal testimonies, thanksgiving for salvation, Easter and gospel comfort for those burdened by guilt.
