Our misery in sin · Darkness and bondage
This prayer opens inner unrest and life’s burdens to the Spirit, asking the Lord’s freedom to enter particular circumstances. Second Corinthians 3 places freedom within turning to him and being changed; Galatians points released people towards serving one another through love. Guilt, fear and self-defence often hinder honesty. His grace gradually loosens these bonds. We can acknowledge need in prayer and accept trusted members’ companionship. The Spirit’s freedom appears through honesty, repentance and loving action, enabling a freer response to God.
Teaching on the Spirit’s work, personal prayers for freedom and repentance, and care in small groups.
