The glory of God · Faithfulness and covenant keeping
The rainbow turns our eyes towards God’s faithfulness in taking the initiative to make a covenant, offering unsettled hearts a hope in which to rest. The rainbow of Genesis 9 is the sign of God’s covenant with every living creature on earth. Keep its original recipients and the scope of its promise when reading the passage. The song draws people into thanksgiving and renewed strength in their relationship with the Lord. Hebrews 10 encourages believers to hold firmly to hope because the one who promised is faithful. Explain the rainbow’s biblical meaning before inviting the congregation to recall how the Lord has led them, deepening their understanding of him alongside their feelings.
Worship on covenant faithfulness, thanksgiving testimonies, gatherings for parents and children, and retreats.
