Confession and repentance · Renewal and sanctification
This work invites us to bring the plans and pride within our hearts before the Lord, asking him to change us so that our lives become more like Christ. The prayer of examination in Psalm 139 gives direction to this openness; 2 Corinthians connects the transformation of life with the Lord’s glory and the Holy Spirit’s work. Being willing to be purified by the Lord also means honestly facing our prejudices, hurtful words and unwillingness to relinquish control. During a response at a gathering, we can quietly consider one matter requiring repentance and seek appropriate help and restoration. We learn obedience within grace, using the strength the Lord gives to serve people, so that the renewal for which we pray gradually enters visible everyday life.
Confession and self-examination, responses on sanctification, coworkers’ retreats and prayers of dedication.
