The glory of God · Faithfulness and covenant keeping
This hymn connects seeking help amid anxiety to the Lord’s enduring lovingkindness and covenant faithfulness. Looking for help, receiving a table and remembering covenant turn singers from burdens towards the reliable Lord. Psalm 121 identifies help with Yahweh, maker of heaven and earth; Psalm 23 describes the shepherd’s welcome and supply even before enemies. Such trust permits honest pain and requests for Jesus’ support within it. After singing, pray for particular needs and arrange continuing care, making love that will not forsake us visible as comfort through brothers and sisters’ patient companionship.
Visiting the sick, comfort amid difficulty, worship on covenant faithfulness and intercession.
