Confession and repentance · Following and obedience
Naming worldly attraction, obscuring circumstances, lies and difficulties gives resolve concrete resistance to face. The singer asks the Spirit’s support to continue praising, worshipping and walking in holiness. Daniel’s determination in a foreign setting and the Psalms’ steadfast songs amid trouble show obedience beginning with clear small decisions. Relinquishing self-pity is best understood as entrusting a wounded heart to the Lord and stepping forward afresh. Gently accompany those still sorrowful when leading, letting mutual support and the Spirit’s strength help resolve enter sustained living.
New Year resolutions, discipleship, coworkers’ retreats and prayers of obedience.
