The glory of God · Creation and sovereignty
From the splendour of the created heavens and earth, this hymn leads us to worship the reigning King and then turns towards his care for frail creatures. Psalm 104 describes God creating in wisdom and sustaining all things by his provision, making wind and clouds, the earth and living creatures all reasons for praise. Reverence for the Creator also includes acknowledging that we are only dust and that our lives depend on his kindness every day. As we sing, we can turn our wonder at nature into thanksgiving and learn to use the resources we have received humbly. Creation and care are connected here, helping the congregation see our limits within the vast world and look to the trustworthy Lord for our everyday needs.
Worship on creation, Sunday calls to worship, thanksgiving gatherings and outdoor devotions.
