The glory of God · Goodness and provision
This short song brings Jesus’ promise of peace into personal prayer, helping the troubled listen afresh to his comfort. The promise in John 14 comes as the disciples are about to face separation and upheaval, so this peace can enter circumstances that remain unresolved. The Lord knows our fears and invites us to trust in him. As we sing, we can slow down, tell the Lord specifically what is troubling us and intercede for those around us who are under pressure. Philippians reminds believers to bring thanksgiving into their requests and let God guard their minds. Such peace also helps us continue bearing today’s responsibilities with gentleness and clarity.
Prayer meetings, comfort amid worry, a quiet response before the end of a gathering and pastoral visits.
