About this hymn

This hymn opens our hearts to the Lord’s love, asking him to dwell in us, comfort us, set us free and complete his renewal in us. The singing moves from the trembling of a repentant heart towards the hope of worshipping before the Lord in the future, portraying grace throughout life’s journey. Ephesians prays that believers may be rooted in Christ’s love; 2 Corinthians describes the Holy Spirit gradually making us reflect the Lord’s glory. As we sing, we can acknowledge where we still need to change and trust that the Lord continues working. The hope of finally being like the Lord gives direction to sanctification today. We learn his purity and lovingkindness in our relationships, character and service, while waiting patiently for him to bring his work to completion.

When to use this hymn
