The glory of God · Creation and sovereignty
Built around the closing section of Psalm 29, this song sets the might of the flood alongside God’s unshaken kingship. The whole psalm first lets us hear the majesty of the Lord’s voice and finally brings the blessing of strength and peace to his people. As we sing, we can follow that sequence from reverence into trust. Storms show us our limits, while the Lord’s reign means we still have someone to whom we can pour out our hearts and in whom we can take refuge. The peace we seek includes being sustained amid hardship and being willing to act according to his will. As a community singing together, we can intercede for those facing disaster, upheaval or loss and participate in their rebuilding through practical care.
Intercession amid disaster and upheaval, worship on trust and responding to Psalm 29.
