This short song places a personal prayer of opening our hearts within the scene of heavenly messengers worshipping before the throne. Revelation 4 shows us the grounds of worship: God is holy and eternal, and he created all things. Psalm 95 invites the people he shepherds to come humbly before him. Raised hands, bent knees and prostration express honour and remind singers to examine whether their hearts are willing to obey. Leaders can leave time for silence, allowing the brief words to become sincere prayer. Whether or not our bodies can adopt a particular posture, each person can respond to the Lord with an honest heart and acknowledge in shared worship that he deserves glory.
