Redeeming grace · Resurrection and victory
This celebratory song joins Jesus’ coming into the world, death, resurrection and ascension into one narrative of salvation, giving the praise of the Lord’s name clear content. John 1 explains that the Word became flesh; 1 Corinthians 15 bears witness that Christ died for sins and rose from the dead; Acts 1 records his being taken up into heaven. Worshippers rejoice in this Saviour who took the initiative to draw near to people and acknowledge that he deserves honour now. As we sing, we can lead children or new believers in recalling these gospel events and then respond with thanks for the Lord’s self-giving. A brief song, explained through Scripture, can become a way into remembering and proclaiming salvation.
