小羊诗歌 · Album: 鼓舞. Explore “When He Softly Calls Your Name”: song information and official sources.
Confession and repentance · Following and obedience
Amid the pressures of life and inward loneliness, this song invites listeners to notice the Lord’s call and respond to it. John 10 describes the shepherd knowing his own sheep and leading them forward; Psalm 139 helps us understand that our lives have been in God’s care from the beginning. Leaders can begin with Jesus as the Good Shepherd, helping friends exploring faith understand his love and inviting believers to consider how to follow him today. The call in the song is imagery expressing that the Lord knows us; when actually seeking guidance, we must still base our discernment on Scripture, with prayer and help from mature fellow believers. At a gathering inviting a response, leave time for silence so that people can pray freely and honestly to the Lord.
