Confession and repentance · Renewal and sanctification
Whether carrying achievements or broken expectations, people can come afresh before Jesus. This work brings both circumstances into worship, asking him to cleanse the heart and renew life’s centre. First John helps us recognise desires that pass away and treasure God’s enduring will; the forgiven person’s response in Luke shows grace awakening profound love. Turning back also begins continued following, accepting truth’s guidance afresh. The song finally returns to the Saviour’s humiliation and self-giving, placing hope of renewal within his mercy and directing it towards concrete repentance.
Prayers of confession, retreats for those serving, Communion preparation and reordering life.
