Redeeming grace · Freely given grace
The faith in this song has clear content: becoming members of God’s household through Christ’s gospel, being justified through his redemption and relying on the Holy Spirit in spiritual battle. The grace of sharing the promise in Ephesians 3 also reminds the congregation to cross barriers of background and stand before the Lord together. Trust that God will fulfil his will is rooted in the love he has already revealed on the cross. Romans 8 understands suffering within this love, helping believers know that present hardships cannot take away their belonging in Christ. As we sing, we can turn these promises into prayer, strengthen one another and continue walking faithfully in the way the Lord has shown.
