Confession and repentance · Confession and returning
John 6:37 promises that Jesus will never reject those who come to him. This is crucial on the road of repentance. What often keeps someone from returning is uncertainty about being welcomed, rather than ignorance of their sin. In Luke 15, the father runs and embraces his son's neck before the son finishes his prepared confession. Notice carefully: the son has already come to his senses, risen and returned towards his father. Repentance has not been omitted. What falls away is the carefully prepared speech he thought he must finish before receiving welcome. Grace does not wait for polished words. ⚠️ The attribution of this entry's words and music has not been verified; its catalogue information remains provisional.
