Redeeming grace · Resurrection and victory
Often called a modern hymn, it combines a contemporary melody with a traditional structure. Four stanzas follow salvation history through incarnation, death, resurrection and final assurance, omitting none. That is unusual in contemporary worship, where many songs select only one emotional moment. It is therefore especially valuable for teaching: singing it takes the congregation through the gospel's whole framework. The second stanza's statement that God's wrath was satisfied at the cross has prompted discussion in English-speaking churches, showing that the song does not avoid difficult themes. Several Chinese translations circulate, so confirm which version the congregation uses before leading it.
Easter, baptism and ordination; teaching on salvation history or justification; especially suitable as a teaching hymn.
