The glory of God · Faithfulness and covenant keeping
This hymn openly lists things we cannot fully explain: why grace has come to us, how faith grows within our hearts and what tomorrow will bring. Facing these unknowns, believers can still entrust their lives to the Saviour they have come to know. Paul’s assurance amid suffering in 2 Timothy gives the whole hymn its direction; he relies on the Lord who can guard what has been entrusted. Such faith allows us to acknowledge the limits of our understanding and encourages us to continue studying, praying and following. The congregation can pray for wisdom regarding unanswered questions while remembering the faithfulness the Lord has already revealed, being faithful in what we can do today and waiting patiently for him to complete his work of renewal.
Testimonies of faith, companionship amid doubt, turning points in life and gatherings of comfort.
