The glory of God · Faithfulness and covenant keeping
This hymn treats God’s spoken Word as trust’s firm foundation. Through fear, deep water and refining fire, it repeatedly considers his promises to help and keep his people. Isaiah’s words first reveal presence and redemption to the people he is calling back; Hebrews likewise strengthens believers through the Lord’s promise never to forsake them. Bring current pressures into Scripture’s light and seek how to be faithful today. Security amid suffering comes from the Lord’s reliability, enabling prayer, help-seeking, endurance and continued steps with communal support, while waiting for him to complete his work in wisdom and loving kindness.
