The glory of God · Wisdom and eternity
Setting human limits alongside the Creator’s wisdom, this song helps those who wait learn humble trust. Within a call to return, Isaiah 55 speaks of the height of God’s thoughts and promises that his word will accomplish what pleases him; Job 38 widens the sufferer’s vision through the wonders of creation. We may not yet understand the twists before us, but we can continue praying to the Lord and move forward according to the truth we already understand. As we sing, we need not rush to find a reason for every painful experience. We can acknowledge our questions and wait quietly, allowing the Lord who creates life to sustain today’s steps.
Prayer while waiting, choices in life, care for those suffering and worship on trust.
