The glory of God · Goodness and provision
Through flowers and birds, this song leads us to notice the heavenly Father’s care and bring everyday worries about food and clothing back to Jesus’ teaching. Matthew 6 invites disciples to seek God’s Kingdom and righteousness first and entrust their daily needs to the heavenly Father who knows their circumstances. We still need to live conscientiously, but can learn amid our work not to be ruled by worry. The song’s hope of eternal life also extends the theme of provision towards a lasting relationship with the Lord. As we sing, we can begin by thanking him for one small kindness before us, then pray for people facing material difficulty and share whatever help we can give, so that the heavenly Father’s lovingkindness becomes visible within the community.
Family worship, children’s gatherings, sharing the gospel and comfort amid everyday worries.
