About this hymn

The expression “from everlasting to everlasting” appears twice in the Psalms: Psalm 90:2 speaks of God's existence, and Psalm 103:17 of his loving kindness. This song draws on their intersection: God has always been there, and so has his love. The distinction matters pastorally. Believing that an eternal God exists is one thing; believing that his disposition towards me endures just as long is harder. The song takes the form of a declaration, fitting congregational singing or an opening to worship. In hardship, the promise of permanence gains weight. ⚠️ Its theme is close to “Our Eternal Lord”; avoid singing them back to back in the same service.

When to use this hymn
