The glory of God · Goodness and provision
This hymn leads us to notice the beauty of heaven and earth, the delight of our senses, the love of family and friends, and shared worship, and to thank the Giver for these everyday kindnesses. In Psalm 19, the created heavens and earth declare God’s glory; James points to the source of every good gift. As we sing, we can begin giving thanks for one specific detail: a meal, a gathering, a natural scene or a moment when someone was willing to stay beside us. Thanksgiving also teaches us to treasure resources, care for relationships and remember neighbours who still face lack. As the congregation sings together, the beauty each person has seen and the grace each has received flow into shared praise of the Creator.
