Confession and repentance · Surrender and dedication
The song gathers many desires around one centre: knowing and loving Jesus more deeply, directing the whole person’s response towards him. Psalm 27 longs to seek the Lord’s presence and behold his beauty; Jesus’ greatest commandment joins love for God and love for neighbours. Sung intimacy can therefore extend into everyday choices and relationships. Bring distracting worries, competition and desires before the Lord, asking him to reorder life’s priorities. Such offering grows from gratitude for having been loved first and teaches us to let the beloved Lord’s beauty be seen through honesty, mercy and faithfulness towards others.
Personal devotions, dedication responses, worship on loving the Lord and quiet prayer.
