The glory of God · Goodness and provision
The priestly blessing in Numbers 6 makes blessing concrete in God’s protection, his shining face, graciousness and peace. The blessing in Second Corinthians further reveals that the church receives the grace of the Lord Jesus, the Father’s love and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. When a congregation blesses one another, it proclaims God’s initiative in drawing near to keep his people. It promises neither wealth and smooth circumstances nor the fulfilment of every wish in its existing form. This song suits commissioning and benediction, sending those who have received grace into family life, work and service with peace.
Benedictions, commissioning, weddings and family gatherings; teaching on Numbers 6 or the blessing of the triune God.
